Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Bedford Hills is a neighbourhood within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Bedford Hills is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for getting around by car. It is straightforward to access a parking spot, and most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway. However, Bedford Hills is not an especially pleasant part of Halifax for getting around by public transit. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually just around the corner. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are not very conducive to those who travel by foot as carrying out daily needs is impractical. This neighbourhood is also not very amenable to cycling as the bicycling network is not very extensive, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of slopes.

Services

Daycares and primary schools are straightforward to access on foot from anywhere in this part of the municipality. However, this area does not have any high schools. With respect to eating, some, but not all, property owners in this neighbourhood will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants.

Character

Bedford Hills offers a slower-paced atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Public green spaces are easy to access since there are a few of them close by for residents to check out. This part of the municipality is also very quiet, as the streets are generally especially tranquil.

Housing

In Bedford Hills, about 60% of buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while renters make up the remainder.
