The neighbourhood of Cresthaven is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in this part of the municipality. Nearby highways are very easy to reach from anywhere in this area, and it is especially convenient to park. On the other hand, getting around by transit can be difficult in Cresthaven as a result of the infrequent service. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most properties. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are not very suitable for walking as few common errands can be run on foot. However, Cresthaven is reasonably appropriate for biking.

Services

In all but a few cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. When it comes to education, parents and their schoolchildren will find that no matter where their house is situated in Cresthaven, primary schools and daycares are close by. However, this part of the municipality does not contain any high schools.

Character

Cresthaven is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Most areas in this part of the municipality are very quiet, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, although Cresthaven does not contain any parks, green spaces are very well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making them very easy to get to.

In Cresthaven, the majority of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Around 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. Roughly 30% of homes in this part of Halifax were constructed in the 1980s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
