Character

Centre Island offers a variety of experiences for those who enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and spending time in green spaces. Although this area is not known for its lively ambience, with the bars in nearby neighbourhoods, it is easy to find a place to grab a drink as they are generally located a short walk away. On the other hand, there is a very small amount of greenery in this area; however, a large number of locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to public green spaces, such as Toronto Islands - South Island Park and Toronto Islands - Island Park, since there are around 20 of them nearby for residents to relax in and reaching the closest park is very easy from most properties for sale.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Centre Island is an important part of its character. This part of the city has a good choice of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. This part of Toronto experienced its largest building boom pre-1960, so most of the available properties are from this era.
