The neighbourhood of McIntyre is part of the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in this area. Parking is generally easy. In contrast, this area is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most houses are near a bus stop. Even though certain pleasant areas for bicycling can be found, McIntyre is not especially conducive to biking because there are a good number of elevation changes, and this part of the city has a quite poor cycling infrastructure. It is also challenging for pedestrians to navigate McIntyre as meeting daily needs is inconvenient.

Services

It is a rather short walk to get to primary schools from anywhere in McIntyre. On the other hand, parents may consider it very hard for their kids to reach high schools as a pedestrian. Residents have the choice between public and private elementary schools. When it comes to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in McIntyre to reach the closest grocery store.

McIntyre offers a calm atmosphere. McIntyre is reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.
