Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Chedoke Park is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

This part of the city is reasonably transit friendly. For instance, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. However, walking in Chedoke Park is not very popular, even though many daily needs can be met without the use of a car. Chedoke Park is not especially amenable to bicycling since bicycling is rendered arduous by the often hilly topography, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive. Thankfully, some enjoyable pockets for cycling exist, and bicycle travel is quite popular. However, commuting by car is especially convenient in this part of Hamilton. It is very easy to park, and most of the street infrastructure is appropriate for driving.

Services

In vast majority cases, a vehicle is needed in this neighbourhood to reach the closest supermarket. Nevertheless, pharmacies are generally convenient to reach on foot and provide some staple foods. Chedoke Park offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy. Reaching parks in the neighbourhood, like Chedoke Golf Course, is very easy since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. This part of the city is an excellent neighbourhood for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

In Chedoke Park, the majority of dwellings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood took place before the 1960s. There is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this area.
