City Core

City Core is a neighbourhood within Cambridge, Ontario, which is located in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Walking is practical for residents in City Core; many common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. It is also convenient to get around by bike in City Core. The public transit system in this area is sometimes poor. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by around 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. However, cars are a fairly good medium of transportation in City Core. It is convenient to park.

Services

Daycares and schools are easy to get to on foot from most properties for sale in this neighbourhood. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. As far as eating is concerned, getting to the nearest supermarket by walking is practical for some, but not all, property owners in City Core. However, a coffee shop is usually a reasonably short walk away, and residents of this neighbourhood benefit from around 20 restaurants as well.

Character

The character of City Core is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. A lot of locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, such as Dickson Park, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. This area is also reasonably quiet, as the streets are generally quite calm.

Housing

Renters occupy roughly two thirds of the properties in City Core whereas owners occupy the remainder. In this area, around 40% of dwellings are small apartment buildings, but large apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. Roughly 40% of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
