The community of West Pennant is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to move around in West Pennant is usually a car. It is especially convenient to park. It is very difficult for people walking to get around in this area as almost no daily needs can be carried out by walking. The bike is a rather poor means of transportation in West Pennant as the topography is not very flat, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed.

Services

West Pennant does not have any high schools or primary schools. Concerning food, a car is almost always required in this part of the municipality to access the closest grocery store.

Character

West Pennant is a wonderful community to buy a home in for those who prefer a relaxed atmosphere. The noise levels in West Pennant are especially low, as the streets are very tranquil. Public green spaces aren't well-distributed, which makes them occasionally challenging to access from most locations in this part of the municipality. Still, there are a few parks close by for residents to explore.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing almost all buildings in West Pennant, but duplexes are also present in the housing stock. About 20% of properties in this community were built between 1980 and 1990, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
