Situated within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, East Preston is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Commuting by car is especially convenient in East Preston. Parking is quite easy, and nearby highways are easy to access from anywhere in this area. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Halifax are located in places that are not very suitable for those who travel by foot because carrying out daily needs is nearly impossible. East Preston is also not very suited for bicycling since this area is home to a quite poor cycling infrastructure, and there are a good number of hills.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is needed to do groceries. Concerning education, in East Preston, parents and their kids will commonly be able to reach daycares on foot. In contrast, there are only a few primary schools in this part of the municipality and consequently they can be an extended walk away. Additionally, East Preston does not have any high schools.

Character

East Preston is a reasonably good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to visit and they are very well-spread out, which results in them being easy to access from most locations in this part of the municipality.
