The neighbourhood of River's Edge is part of the city of Edmonton, Alberta, which is located in the Greater Edmonton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent means of transportation in River's Edge. It is a reasonably short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is very easy to park. Cycling is at times challenging in River's Edge since there are few bike lanes, and riding is rendered difficult by the often steep terrain. Travelling on foot is also not very practical for residents in this part of Edmonton because carrying out daily needs is impractical.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is needed to shop for groceries. Nonetheless, it is generally a reasonably short distance to the nearest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods. As far as education is concerned, River's Edge does not have any high schools or primary schools. Moreover, parents and their kids may find it very hard to get to daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

River's Edge is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm atmosphere. This area is very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in River's Edge. Notably, this part of the city is good for those looking for four or more bedroom homes. Nearly all of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this part of the city were constructed between 1960 and 1980, when most of the housing growth occurred.
