The Village is a neighbourhood within Airdrie, Alberta, which is situated in the Greater Calgary metropolitan area.

Transportation

Bicycling is easy in this part of the city as the Village has a fairly good bicycling infrastructure. This neighbourhood will also draw active home buyers as it is well-suited for walking; meeting daily needs is easy. Cars are an excellent transportation option in this part of the city. Most properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, and it is straightforward to park. On the other hand, the Village is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop.

Services

Schools and daycares are especially easy to walk to from most houses for sale in this area. With respect to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to purchase groceries. Nonetheless, pharmacies are generally very easy to access on foot and sell some basic food items. There are also a few restaurants in this part of Airdrie.

Character

The Village is an excellent neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. The Village is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

In the Village, roughly 60% of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. A majority of the housing growth in this neighbourhood happened between 1960 and 1980. This part of Airdrie is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and the rest are renters.
